30/9/2008 - Our strip become Airfield

ENAC classified our "Corte de' Droso" strip as Italian Airfield. Too many wishes to the owners and manager.

 

 

10 GIUGNO 2008 - We transfered our activity into new airfield !!!

We are now into "Corte de' Droso", 3 km far from Maglie, where we transfered our planes and all our activity.

27/1/08 - Delivery of Pilot Certificates to our students

Sunday evening at the restaurant "Bel Ami" in Maglie were delivered the Certificates to the new pilots and the Habilitation in transporting the passenger. Especially hilarious delivery on reading of "reasons" by the director of flight school to: Antonio Pulli, Fabio Dell'Aquila, Gianni Maglie, Consiglio Mancarella, Giulio Scrimieri, Massimiliano Buttazzo, Andrea Bavia and Stefano Chetta.
Much appreciated the presence of their families, our maintainer M.llo Antonio Stefanelli and new coming student Paolo Pellegrino.
Many greetings from the school to the newly patented for their achievements and new subscribers to the "Integrative Course of Air Navigation".

 

20/12/07 - It's reality: airports open to ulm !!!

Airports Director of Bari, Brindisi and Grottaglie, Dr. Antonio Lattarulo, in today's meeting at the airport of Brindisi, informed our instructor Santoro having identified Grottaglie as the site of VDS flights. Therefore, to the ultralight pilots to obtain permission to carry out activities on airports, must attend a favorable outcome "Integrative Course of Air Navigation".
Our school has already opened its enrollment in this course, which is scheduled to begin on 7 January next, in which at least three are expected to fly missions with landings at Grottaglie.

 

27/10/07 - And here's patented new pilots !

The friendly Nicola Chimisso, instructor examiner sent by Aero Club of Italy, accompanied by the delightful Mrs. Linda and their dog Chicco, chaired the examination session of 27 last Saturday in which: Consiglio Mancarella and Fabio Dell'Aquila have VDS Pilots patented, the latter in only 1 month and 13 days of training, while Antonio Pulli has achieved Habilitation in transporting the passenger.
Extremely happy with the result, the Air Salento Staff extends their best wishes and thanks a lot Antonio Pulli for the excellent lunch provided along the beautiful sea of Gallipoli !

 

30/08/07 - At the end, we can land on the civil airports

ENAC has identified guidelines that Airport Managers should follow for the possible issuance to pilots VDS authorization to perform activities on airports. Necessary but not sufficient, is that the pilot has attended a favorable outcome "Integrative Course of Air Navigation".

 

20/06/07 - "Sprout wings" to another of our students

By takeoff at 19:11 and a perfect landing at 19:34 to Consiglio Mancarella "sprout the wings" and, despite the preparation of the bucket full of water right from takeoff, Massimiliano Buttazzo could not even center him with a shot!

25/05/07 - New Pilots

Lieutenant Colonel Giuseppe Casalino, as examiner and Antonio Santoro, Instructor which have formed the Committee in today session of exams: Antonio Pulli holds the patent, while Andrea Bavia, Massimiliano Buttazzo, Stefano Chetta, Gianni Maglie and Giulio Scrimieri have obtained Habilitation in transporting the passenger.
The flight school "Air Salento", proud of the results obtained, is congratulated his former students!

 

13/03/07 - The fleet is increasing: it is the Pioneer 300 Hawk!

Our fleet is further enriched with the arrival of the Pioneer 300 Hawk: a beautiful airplane and super accessoried that Giulio Scrimieri and the instructor has moved from Alpi Aviation Pordenone to our airfield.
Upon arrival, watching closely, all without words: a dream !

 

28/01/07 - Came another new brand Pioneer 200 of the school

Antonio Pulli and Antonio Santoro have transferred the beautiful and luxurious Pioneer 200 (dashboard leather, rocket parachute), delivered by Alpi Aviation Pordenone and remained locked due fog in Valle Gaffaro (Ferrara). In a wonderful day and, finally, with exceptional visibility, the two have made the transfer of the plane, initially along the route Pordenone-Venezia-Chioggia-Ferrara, and thereafter, Ferrara-Ravenna-Rimini-Chieti-Lavello-Bari-Oria.
Many thanks to Eugenio Bandini, Ornello Boscolo and friends of Valle Gaffaro extremely nice and helpful that we hope to accommodate here in summer.
